On Tile, wood and Low Carpeting - 7 star Vac Made in the USA!, September 29, 2011 This review is from: Oreck Pilot� Vacuum Cleaner (Misc.) Tried this vac at Sears, but wanted to try it at home.
Is so easy to use, it seriously drives itself on thinner carpeting, wood and tile floors.
This vac is a 7-Star Vac in Offices. It works perfectly on our tile floors, low
pile carpeting, rugs, etc. Has side bristle brushes that edge debris to the vac
to be suctioned up. You will not have to go back over the floor, one sweep and it
cleans it's path plus the two sides with the brushes. Works like a dream!
It is self propelled on these floor types and seriously, you will have to go get it,
it takes off and makes it fun to just walk behind it.
for anyone with shoulder or arm pain, this is the vac for you!
Has several settings, too for high or lower suction for tile, wood or carpeting.
I LOVE THIS VAC SO I BOUGHT ONE FOR WORK.

Nice, no-frills vacuum, July 25, 2011 This review is from: Oreck Pilot� Vacuum Cleaner (Misc.) I used an older Oreck for a few years and I liked it. It didn't have a built-in camera or MP3, but it did precisely what a vacuum cleaner is supposed to do: vacuum floors. And so, when the need came for another vacuum, I bought this new Oreck Pilot XL and did my first cleaning with it. It seems to work as advertised and is pretty comparable with my good old Oreck.
PROS:
It's relatively quiet and lightweight. Has long cord. Nice bright white LED light in front. Easily maneuverable, seems to turn just like Dyson's ball in their commercials. Simple build - simple operation. Two speeds - the first speed is useful on bath rugs, for example. 5 year warranty. Large disposable HEPA dust bag (new cleaner comes with two paper bags).
CONS:
Pricey. It's a good machine with good reputation, but I don't really see four hundred worth of hardware in it. It is why I removed a star from my rating. Another con is that on the second speed the vacuum pulls forward pretty... Read more

I purchased this upright vacuum for my 85 year old mother because she had been wanting one for some time. Over the years many a vacuum has been in her hands. Most worked fantastic at first then slowly have weakened and have been given the old LAST GOOD PUSH to the trash container. Most have been under $200 dollars and baggless type. She has kept the Kirby but only because it cost well over $2k and and will be placed on eBay soon . That beast is too heavy for her and also the only one that has outlasted all the other vacuums. This Oreck will literally TAKE OFF on itself, soo easy to fluff up carpets with it's wooden beater brush. I have been doing some drywall in the dinning room portion of her house on my days off and have tracked that fine residue across her living room carpet and I was really impressed as to how easily that part of the cleanup was . Time will tell if this one will last but from the reviews I have read it may be a long time. I went to look at them at our local store... Read more
