We bought it about three months ago after quite a lot of research. I have always purchased Kenmore vacuums in the past and was tired of replacing them every 4-5 years. I prefer the canister style because it is easy to maneuver. This one is especially lightweight and the red color is nice. We live in a three story house with two stories of wood and one story of carpeting. This model works equally well on both surfaces. We knew we wanted to go with a Miele because of their reputed durability. The parts for this vacuum are quite solid. These are of superior quality to our Kenmores. We didn't go with one of the lower priced models in the range because they didn't seem to have the components we wanted for cleaning our carpets. This was the lowest price model Miele made which works equally well on both smooth and carpeted floors. We did look at the higher end models in the extensive range, but this model seemed quite good when comparing... Read more

Excellent on wood floors, tile, and awesome on carpets. So strong that the small rugs get pulled away, while going back & forth. Cord is a little short, but the other cannister vac that this replaced was the same length. Returned the Kenmore cannister vac that was rated #1 before I purchased this, because it didn't even work on wood & tile. Tried Dyson in store & was horrible. Didn't try this Miele out in store before ordering, but read a million reviews, and glad I purchased this.
